Description Plant Care
Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Fountain Grass' (Fountain Grass). Probably the most commonly used of the cold-hardy fountain grasses. Narrow, green leaves form a soft, arching mound. Use as an accent or specimen plant, in the middle of borders, and with other perennials. Effective as a container plant. Its seed heads are green in summer, becoming golden-brown in autumn, resembling large foxtails, and persist through fall. Prefers fertile, wet or well-drained soil in full sun to light shade. Considered deer resistant once established.
Special Characteristics:
  • Salt Tolerant
