Dangling, oat-like spikelets droop from light green, bamboo-like foliage, June through September. Excellent in dried arrangements. Useful as a formal accent, in mass plantings, or even as a container plant. Prefers wooded slopes, moist thickets, and creek bottoms. Full sun to full shade. Can tolerate drought, but will require shade in hot, dry climates. Deer resistant once established. Attracts birds and butterflies!
