Santa Rosa Gardens

A new dwarf Stokesia called Elf!  This native was discovered at Hoffie Nursery in Union, IL.  It was selected for its shorter compact growth habit and deep green foliage.  The 2 inch across flowers continuously blooms all summer covering your garden with adorable starbursts of violet color.  As with the traditional Stokes Aster this is a butterfly attractant.  Another exceptional feature is this variety’s ability to withstand heat and humidity.  This plant is also deer and rabbit resistant.  Use as a single specimen, in mass plantings, cut flower arrangement, or containers.  The genus name Stokesia is in honor of Dr. Jonathan Stokes who was an 18-19th century English physician.
