Forms a small, loose clump, which is nearly evergreen even to zone 6. The leaves often curl and flip revealing their powdery blue underside, giving the plant a two-tone appearance. Tiny flower spikes emerge purplish in March, and turn a golden amber by June. Makes an excellent groundcover, or edging plant in perennial borders. Tolerates some occasional foot traffic. Can be used in coastal or rocky sites. Prefers full sun to part shade; moist fertile soil; considered alkaline and drought tolerant, but performs better with regular water. Requires part shade to shade in hot, dry climates. Common Name: Blue Moor Grass
