A cascading mound of large, fuzzy, olive-green leaves with slightly arching spikes of smoky-violet flowers. Prefers full sun in a well-drained soil., but seems to be particularly tolerant of dry soils. Will tolerate semi-shade, especially in Southern gardens. Excellent cut flower. Considered drought and humidity tolerant, as well as deer resistant, once established. Attracts butterflies and other pollinators. Cut back in fall for rebloom til frost.
Grow in light, moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil.
Peforms best in light, dappled shade.
