Description

One of the truest blues to be found in the Salvia family.  Salvia nemorosa Blue Hill is native to Germany where it was discovered by the well respected German nurseryman Ernst Pagels.  It was chosen for its compact growth habit and its long lasting flowers.  From early spring to early fall blue-lavender spires will illuminate the garden.  When the flowers die it is a good idea to cut them off to encourage more flowers sooner!  This plant is a wonderful attractant for hummingbirds and butterflies.  It can withstand intense heat and humidity as well as becoming drought tolerant once established.  This plant is known to be deer and rabbit resistant.  Also, has been said to contain salt tolerance.  Use as a single specimen, in a mass, fresh/dried cut flower arrangements, or containers.
