No other plant spreads so lavishly, needs so little attention, flowers so profusely with so little care. Magenta-red blooms cover this semi-evergreen, needle-like groundcover in early to mid-spring. Thrives anywhere, even in poor, dry, sandy soil where other groundcovers fail. Prefers full sun, in regular, well-drained soil. Neat, creeping habit. Use on steep banks for erosion control and lavish spring color. Use in rock gardens, as an edger, and in containers.
