A tough, durable groundcover, moss phlox stays green year-round. Plants form dense mats of pine needle-like foliage. Fort Hill produces a profuse, foliage-hiding display of deep pink, 1/2" fragrant flowers from to mid to late spring. Plant in full sun, in moderately fertile, well-drained soil. Use on steep banks for erosion control, and lavish spring color. An excellent choice for rock gardens, and good for edging flower beds. To stimulate fresh growth, shear plants back after flowering, but do not cut back after mid-August, since flower buds set in the fall. Common Name: Moss Phlox
