Learn to love a fresh new look of the butterfly garden favorite Pentas lanceolata with its new cultivar called Stars and Stripes!  This cultivar still has the vivid red tubular flowers for the butterflies and hummingbirds to enjoy, but now includes beautifully variegated leaves.  The variegation consists of a deep green center with a creamy white outline with speckles of green within the white.  It’s as if someone has taken a paint brush and splattered the leaves with paint!  Enjoy these flowers from spring to fall as this plant is a continuous bloomer.  To encourage more flowering, cut off the old flowers.  This plant is also heat and humidity tolerant.
