Similar in appearance to 'Heavy Metal', but boasts a slightly bluer color. An excellent 'switch grass' for true blue color in the landscape. Moderate grower. Fine textured bloom, to 2' long, in mid to late summer, fades from bluish to tan. Prefers full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained soil. Tolerates dry soil conditions, wind and salt spray. Quicker out of dormancy than 'Heavy Metal'. Combines well with lower bluish grasses. Considered deer resistant once established. Useful in borders, low screen, tolerates wind and salt spray, wildlife cover grass, native areas; best in groups of at least 3.
