Santa Rosa Gardens

Red Variegated Banana is an ornamental banana tree that originates from New Guinea.  The colors of this tree are very beautiful and can add color to any landscape.  Even though this tree is ornamental it has another use and that is for the hummingbirds!  They love the nectar from the flowers.  Not a very cold hardy plant, it should be protected during the winter.
