Muhlenbergia capillaris

Typically found in sandy coastal areas, in woodlands, or in rocky soils. It is native to the eastern United States and Mexico. M. capillaris is one of the most highly ornamental grasses. It has fine, dark green foliage that appears somewhat glossy.

It is the seed heads, however, that make this grass so special. It blooms from summer to early fall, with a showy display of delicate pink seed panicles, that hold well through early fall. Its pink inflorescense seems to float above the plant like soft clouds. Most attractive in grouped plantings and sweeps. It is very drought tolerant and performs best in full sun or light shade.

I just unpacked my order this a.m. The packaging was great but what I was so impressed with was the plants. These were actually plants that I would have purchased if I had seen them in person. I do a lot of mail ordering and am usually disappointed with the plants. They are the wors! But yours were great at a reasonable price. I am puttin in an ornamental grass garden so I found many of what I had been searching for. Variety, quality and good service! What else can you ask for? I will be ordering other plants in the future. Thanks again!

i am very satisfied with my shipment. the healthiest plants i've rec'd in the mail. they are slow growing and are healthy. only wish you offered larger shipping size.they have tolerated our june deluge and now the july drought. amazing!

Earlier this year or maybe around spring, I ordered from you five , you sent 10, Japanese painted ferns, ten muhly grass, and 10 strawberries and cream grasses. Every one arrived in excellent health, almost all were extremely rooty, and they are all growing in leaps and bounds. I thank you for offering and supplying the best plants I have ourchased on line.
