Miscanthus sinensis Strictus

'Strictus' is well recognized for its stunning gold-banded foliage. Ideal for garden, landscape or at water's edge. Its growth habit is very upright, resembling porcupine quills. Fall bloom period, opening to coppery-red plumes, which turn silver in fall, and raise the overall height to 8-9' tall. Beautiful winter presence with evergreens in the garden. Can tolerate a wide range of soils, including coastal conditions if the soil is kept moist. May be slower to establish in drier sites. Tolerates boggy conditions. Full sun to bright shade. Considered deer resistant once established.
