Description

Commonly known as Maiden Grass, 'Gracillimus' is one of the oldest and perhaps the most widely known of the miscanthus varieties. It is desired for its finely narrow foliage and gracefully round form. 'Gracillimus', a clump forming grass, with an arching shape that may make it seem much larger. Blooms are an attractive copper-red color, which appear in mid to late fall, and are great for attracting butterflies to the garden. Excellent for garden, landscape, screening or at waters' edge. Best miscanthus for hot summer areas. Considered drought tolerant and deer resistant when mature. Cut old stems to ground in early spring. Prefers well-draining soil in full sun to bright shade. Water two to three times per week, until well established.

Well developed in one season May 8, 2009
Reviewer: TANYA  from CORAM, NY United States
In my first order to SRG I order 5 of these grasses.  I was skeptical about their size when I received them, but to my amazement, they had grown to about 4 feet by the end of the summer.  We cut them to the ground earlier this Spring and they are already springing back up!  I'm awaiting a delivery of 10 more for another part of my yard.  These grasses are awesome!  Keep up the great work!

My plants just arrived in beautiful condition! Best  ever from any mail order before, and better than those I saw this a.m. at a local nursery. The cold pack was even still cool. Keep up the great work!
