Semi-evergreen mounding and trailing perennial. Silver foliage, edged dark green with hooded, whorled, mauve-pink flowers in late spring to early summer, and again with the return of the cooler weather of fall. Prefers partial to full shade, in moist, moderately rich, well-drained soil. Does not tolerate drought. A vigorous groundcover ideal for large areas, and is considered deer resistant. Useful as an edger, paired with smaller hostas or in containers.
