Large, spiraling foliage, resembling giant corkscrews twisting and turning creating a dramatic effect over water. More upright than 'Spiralis'. Prefers very moist to wet conditions in full sun to part shade. Protect in hot climates by providing shallow water 1-6" over the crown. Refresh the foliage yearly by cutting back the old stems in late winter; bright, new greenery will emerge in spring. This duplicates what happens naturally each in its northern most range, where the frost kills its greenery back to ground level.
Grow in permanently moist, acidic soil in sun or part shade. M
ay be grown in shallow water or boggy soil, so long as the crown is not submerged.
Fertilization is not necessary in the ground; in a container, give half-strength liquid fertilizer once a month during the growing season.
