Oakleaf Hydrangea Snow Queen is native to the southeastern portion of the U.S. Due to its origins, this hydrangea is more winter hardy and can tolerate drier conditions than the native to Japan Mophead Hydrangeas. Another difference is its panicle flowers, which is more of a conical shape. The creamy white flowers can grow to be 8 inches long. The green foliage is deeply lobed mimicking oak leaves. As the foliage ages it turns pinkish in color. The white flowers contrast well with the green foliage. Another wonderful feature is the beautiful colors the foliage turns in the fall ranging from red, orange, yellow, and burgundy. This allows this hydrangea to offer not just spring and summer interest, but fall as well! They are a great addition to a woodland garden. Use as a cut flower, in dried flower arrangements, single specimen in landscape, or hedge.
