Crimson Curls Coral Bells another selection of the diverse Heuchera, which was bred by Ray Brown from Plant World Botanic Gardens in Devon, England. The “curls” in the name tells it all about this plant, for its leaves are similar to curly leaf lettuce. The foliage is deeply lobed and has serrated edges. In the spring the leaves will emerge maroon and then fade into a sage green color in the summer. On the undersides is a bold rose-purple creating more visual interest. Late in the spring burgundy stems will emerge with cream bell-shaped flowers. The cream colored flowers make an excellent contrast to the dark ruby tones of the leaves and stems. This variety needs a good deal of moisture. This plant is deer and rabbit resistant. Use as a single specimen, in masses, edging, or in containers.
