Another selection for the genus Hakonechloa called Nicolas. This weeping form of ornamental grass is usually grown for its foliage, which during the spring and summer will be a yellow-green color. However, in the fall a burst of color will arrive in forms of orange and red. This will give an outstanding display all through the autumn and as it gets cooler the colors will enhance become bolder. During the middle of summer there will be red-brown seed heads present creating a bit more texture. Use this plant in mixed plantings, as edging, containers, or cascading over a retaining wall.
