A cool season, clump forming grass, with soft, emerald-green foliage which remains evergreen throughout the year. This is a dwarf, very densely tufted bunchgrass, and excellent when used for the front of the border or rock garden planting. Prefers sun or part shade and well-drained soil are a must. Festuca scoparia likes gravelly soil in rock gardens and alpine troughs, and is suitable when used for bonsai. For best results, grow away from any overhanging plants and brush any leaves and needles off during the winter. Not suitable for areas where summers are hot and humid, but is considered drought tolerant in cooler climates. Common Name: Dwarf Bearskin Fescue Grass
