Here is a most unusual and strikingly beautiful plant that forms a huge clump of lush green, grass like foliage in a fountain like display. Not as readily available as the white pampas grass, Rosea is similar in appearance to white pampas grass, but is topped with fluffy 18-24" plumes, blushed with pink in August-November. Cortaderia is tolerant of a wide range of soils and water extremes, but prefers a well-drained, damp, but not wet soil, in full sun to partial shade. The foliage is sharp and may cut skin and catch clothing. Use gloves and some protective clothing when cleaning up and caring for in the spring. Makes an attractive privacy screen, and is perfect in dried flower arrangements, too! This grass will make a stuning accent in your garden, and although it is fast growing, may take up to three years to reach full maturity. It is well worth the wait! Considered deer resistant when mature.
