'Flying Saucers' is a compact coreopsis cultivar which features solitary, yellow, daisy-like flowers with yellow rays and darker yellow center disks atop slender, erect stems rising 18-20" tall. Flowers typically bloom from late spring to late summer and sometimes well into fall.

Easily grown in dry to medium wet, well-drained soil in full sun. Thrives in poor, sandy or rocky soils with good drainage. Tolerant of heat, humidity and drought. Prompt deadheading of spent flower stalks encourages additional bloom. Although most varieties of coreopsis freely self-seed, 'Flying Saucers' is reportedly nearly sterile.

This plant was patented under the original cultivar name of 'Walcoreop', but is being marketed under the trade name of Flying Saucers. PP#10299.

Common Name: Flying Saucers Tickseed

Mature Height: 12-18"

Flowering: Yellow, daisy-like flowers from late spring to very late summer

Spacing: 12"
