Coreopsis Zagreb
Winner of the 2001 RHS Award of Garden Merit.
'Zagreb' is a mounding plant, fast growing, and a prolific bloomer, with bright yellow flowers. Coreopsis Zagreb is a little shorter than the rest of the Coreopsis family. Its delicate dark green foliage has an airy and delicate appearance.
Easy to grow, 'Zagreb', should be planted in full sun to light shade. It is drought-tolerant and tough, but does need well-drained soil, whether that is normal garden soil, clay, or sand. Fertilize in spring. Performs well in hot dry conditions once established. Tolerates cold well as it goes dormant in winter.
'Zagreb' looks great with any type of ornamental grass, in borders or mass plantings in sunny gardens. It is very effective in naturalized areas, rock and cottage gardens or wild gardens. This spectacular European introduction, is a favorite of birds and hummingbirds, and no garden should be without it!
