Native to the wooded slopes and damp forsets of SE North America. A warm season, clump forming grass. Dangling, oat-like spikelets droop from light green, bamboo-like foliage, June through September. Excellent in dried arrangements. Useful as a formal accent, in mass plantings, or even as a container plant. Prefers wooded slopes, moist thickets, and creek bottoms. Moist soil.
