Brilliant gentian-blue flowers from late summer until the first hard frost. Spreads to form a dense mat of zig zag stems with leatherly, oval leaves. Deep red stems and semi-evergreen foliage, changing to burgundy-red in fall. Its low, creeping habit makes it charming in both shrub and perennial borders. Excellent choice for bulb overplanting. Prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade, especially in the South. Tolerant of poor soil. A great groundcover with multi-seasonal interest. Attracts butterflies!
