Calamagrostis arundinacea Brachytricha
This easy plant tolerates any soil in sun or shade. Clump forming, green foliage, tinged bronze, emerges early in the spring. Non-invasive with strong, vertical habits.
Prefers full sun to part shade. Will bloom well in full shade. Requires a moist, well draining soil, especially when planted in full sun. Effective as a specimen, in groups or masses, and an excellent large container plant. Very impressive in the winter garden!
The Korean Feather Reed Grass is a better choice for areas that suffer prolonged hot spells during summer, such as Texas, Nevada, and Oklahoma.
