This blue star sport was discovered in Arkansas in 1942 by Leslie Hubricht. It is truly one of the most outstanding of the blue stars. Amsonia hubrichtii Blue Star is a long-lived, graceful and upright plant with clusters of cool blue flowers in May and June. The outstanding golden color of its narrow-leafed foliage in the fall expands its seasonal interest.
