The Alcea rosea annua Spring Celebrities series is a multi-use plant that can be grown as a cut flower, used in large containers or planted in the landscape. These big semi- to fully-double blooms reach 3 inches wide and are a beautiful purple color! Considered a first-year blooming biennial or short-lived perennial.

When cutting hollyhocks for flower arrangements, to keep the flowers fresh longer, cauterize the bottom of the stem with a match until it blackens, or dip the end in boiling water for several minutes.
